When are Conservatives gonna wake up and realize I don't care if you keep saying "Obama" to me?

I voted for Obama and Hillary, yes -- but only as the lesser of two evils in both cases. Assuming my political views are somehow tied to either of them is simply ridiculous and uninformed. My views on Trump have to do solely with his appalling lack or morals, ethic, and ability and the harm he has done to this country all on his own, nothing to do with any other politician Conservative, Moderate, or Liberal.

You are okay Ernie

Accept us ... we accept you

Do remember, Trump is a populist. His base clearly identifies with him.

So, it isn't like insulting regular politicians.

You insult Trump and you have personally insulted almost everybody in over 80% of the counties in America. Rural and outer suburbs, but still.

It immediately turns the discussion personal and anger brews.

But, I think you are aware and might get a small pleasure out of insulting all these people that are not like you.

Just another way to look at it

I intend no disrespect.

@questionWeaver Trump is a populist who lost the popular vote, was whipped in the mid-terms, and who was voted for by less than 25% of possible US voters. And yes, I fully intend to insult or confront evil and am not ashamed of it. I am ashamed to see what that man has done to this country, which I love, and see no reason to kowtow to evil and ignorance and bigotry.
@ChipmunkErnie There you go Ernie ... just filling you in. It is good to take a position. It is respectable

But nobody hears you insulting Trump the politician

They hear you saying hateful things to them personally.

Which makes the debate quite volatile.

It is no longer political... it is personal

And people hold grudges for personal insults

No surprise there.

@questionWeaver It's not meant to be a debate, it's a statement of fact and personal morality.

I understand your rational POV, and for most situations i would agree with you --- but to me, when it comes to Trump and his ilk, it's like saying we should accept neo-Nazis or White Supremacists for what they are, that their beliefs are simply foibles to be discussed. We saw how that worked in Germany around 3/4 of a century ago.
@ChipmunkErnie

Perfectly fine to hold a position and express

I get it

I even respect it

Populists are not aligned with party, they align with the voters values themselves.

President Obama was a populist in 78 key dense zip codes.

Trump is a populist in 3,800 counties

Just saying, your message is targeted for normal politicians ... be alert, you may need to shift to a paradigm that works better.

Just responding to the original question.

@questionWeaver Every trend comes and goes. The next President will remind us clearly why most people hated Trump and should never vote for a crazy bigoted populist again.
