Does anyone else think Best Answer is a bad idea?
If someone goes to the trouble of replying to a post, to be told "There's a better answer" is rude.

No-but two things.
The poster should NOT be allowed to vote themselves Best Answer. EVER. They are the one asking.
I believe there should be a 48 hour period AFTER it is asked before one can award a Best Answer. That gives others , who may have had a family issue or illness, a chance to weigh in and may be the best of the replies.
A small red 'X" seen only by the poster- meaning no BA can be awarded should be shown. After the 48 is up that will leave.
However it is a good idea and one that SW should keep -but not in it's current state.
