If you look at all the presidents before him, those presidents did not give the people what he promised.

But let us put this in your world. You live in Hawaii. What if 100,000 people washed ashore from South America to your island. Then they wanted shelter, and they expected the USA to give it to them, so they came to your door and demanded that you let them in and they slept in your bed and took over your house to the point you would have to cohabitate with them.
Then, your family has to work to get paid to pay all the bills and put food on the table, but the new people get food stamps and they live in your house for free, and they get food from the government for free, and if they get sick or pregnant, they go to the health department and they get free health care. If you go to the doctor it will cost you money.
I am not saying it is bad to have compassion for these people, but if the USA was your house, would you let them sleep in your bed and get free food and free healthcare, when they sit in your house and watch TV and play video games while you are out working to pay earn enough money to pay the electricity, the water, the phone, and the food.
