Ladies - Trousers or skirts?

When I was in my teens, I wore trousers most of the time. Then when I started work my preferences changed and I wore skirts and dresses all of the time and never wore any trousers for about 25 years. Now as that I am older I am in trousers regularly again. What are your preferences?

My parents mainly insisted I wore skirts and dress when growing up but did wear trousers and jeans sometimes. When I got married by husband thew away all my trousers and jeans (all 4 of them) and I haven't worn trousers since. He has very traditional views on marriage etc and believes a woman should wear skirts and dresses. He also insists on hosiery as well which is something I still have a bug bear against.

@adelesmith I voluntarily gave up pants when I got married. But my husband would never have expected me to.

@adelesmith I quite agree, nothing nicer than a lady in a smart dress or skirt although I accept that in the depths of winter trousers are more practical and perhaps warm. But I hate this modern fashion for torn jeans at the knee. I look back to the days of the 60s when girls wore wide skirts and dresses gathered at the waist and lovely lace petticoats which gave us men quite a thrill.

@MrsKatherineArch My husband is rather strict about that, he expected skirts/dresses from practically the date we started dating

@adelesmith Would you wear trousers if you had a free choice?
