would it be good for humanity if alcohol was banned for consumption?
I wish alcohol was illegal for consumption. alcohol has had a big impact on my life. It is only truly illegal in nine countries like bangladesh afganastan saudi arabia iran and sudan, they all are in or near the middle east.
some people say that alcohol keeps some people from doing worse things its a way to cope with things for some people and that's why they say it would be worse if it was illegal. I don't agree with that I think its worse to have it ,that people need to find better coping mechanisms and they would if they had no other options.

No. Like others have said, when it was banned before (Prohibition), that didn't go well at all. If anything, there was a lot more drinking, because Americans were (and still are) rebellious by nature. And those who made it illegally sometimes put other harmful stuff in it that shouldn't have been in any beverage. So people became a lot more sick than they do now, with the legal stuff.

What might be helpful, would be if more people realized that alcoholism is actually a symptom of a bigger underlying problem, and looked into the reasons why some people abuse alcohol and actually tried to do something about that. But sadly, too many people seem to just want quick, easy fixes.
