How do you choose where to put your question?

I often wonder when I post a question on SW which category it really belongs.

depending on the subject that question is addressing or contributing to.

@sspec thanks but that's the toughest part for me. Some of my questions are more adult in nature but I am never sure if I selected an appropriate category. Thanks for your reply.
