Why do people find it so hard to differentiate between "you're" and "your"?

Ignore those who say it doesn't matter, or that we're 'grammar nazis', or even that the person is dyslexic and we should give them a break. It's not right, it does matter and if you disagree, we probably won't be friends! :)
