Cesar Milan says that you get the dog that you need. I believe that to be true.

@curiosi I believe it is more likely true than false,because I would not be typing this now if I had been dogless,and could not bear to be dogless.
@curiosi Or sometimes the dog that needs you.
I have nearly always had rescue dogs, and some were terribly damaged.
To see them eventually relax within their skin, and let go their guard...is such a wonderful thing to see - their whole look changes! And you get to meet the wonderful heart underneath.

@BoobooSnafu My current dog is a pit, she was badly abused probably to try and make her a fighter. She is so sweet I can't believe anyone would even try. I also have her intake pic from when she was picked up, it doesn't even look like her.
@curiosi I get you!!!
We look at photos from when we first get our dogs, to later on down the track - and sometimes it takes us a while to Work out who the picture is of, ( we are suckers for the larger breaks like mastiffs and danes - big cuddle bunnies).

The difference can be overwhelming. Everything from the look in their eyes, their stance, their coat, the way they hold their ears/tail, even how they move.
And i remember every one of their magical moments when you see or feel them finally set free of their past...it makes me tear up a little just thinking about it.
It blows me away what people can do to a dog. The evil in those people is reserved for a special hell, I'd like to think.
I think god gave them a super powered heart to help them cope with scum that is mankind.
I have not met a human heart that cannot be awed or cracked open by a dog.

They got angel wings we just cant see.🤗
@pedrohedgerow I was saved by my dog, on more than one occasions. B4 diagnosis I was in an abusive relationship, and would lock myself away, or run off into the Bush, she would come find me and Sit beside me and just lean her body into mine, put her face on my chest when I started to calm down. She could suck the manic out of me and replace it with calm.
And always knew when I felt better, she would look into my eyes, as if to check.
And then we'd walk back, her leading the way.

She was my Hero.
