In the shady places we've still got some. Didn't get much yesterday about a half-inch. Parts of western Oklahoma got what they call a ground blizzard, blowing snow about 45 mph winds. There are photos of snow on the north side of power poles all the way up to the top that the wind blew & it stuck. We got more snow yesterday than we did last winter total.

@cherokeepatti Wow! Is it unusual for OK to get blizzards?

@SW-User Oh we have them occasionally, the panhandle area borders Colorado. We had one here about 9 years ago on Christmas Eve and got a foot a snow with strong winds. People were warned about 5 days in advance to get their Christmas shopping done and to plan to stay home on Christmas Eve or get out of the state before then. But some waited and some died, people were shopping right up till the stores closed.

@cherokeepatti That's so awful!!

@SW-User We have had really mild winters the last 3 years, 3 years ago about 3 weeks of cold winter, next year 5 weeks, last year about the same but the last 2 years a killing freeze in April after the fruit trees bloomed. Maybe this year most of the bugs will die.

@cherokeepatti Yeah! I agree! I hate stink bugs!

@SW-User I hate the mosquitoes and ear wigs. Got an earwig in the house 2 days ago I guess coming in from the cold. Got bit by a mosquito last week, here it is November
SW-User
@cherokeepatti Yuck! Don't like those either.

@SW-User They can get into anything. I don't know how they do it but somehow they get into my stainless steel cookware, I turned the lids upside down after they dry and stack them and don't know how anything can get down in the pan with the heavy lids on them that way, have found 2 so far...not to mention sinks, the carpet, the bathrooms, etc.
