When was the last time you descaled your coffee maker?

This is one of the leading causes of issues in coffee makers (I deal with Krups at work as one of the brands I repair/evaluate). Especially with the fully automatic machines. People spend $2000 on something and don’t take care of it.

I descale mine often. I like Keurig because when they don't work properly you can mail back the grey K-Cup holder and they will send you a new machine free.

I mostly do evaluations on the machine that start smoking or catches on fire, or causes personal injury or property damage for liability claims. I only do repairs if the service does it wrong the first time. @SweetMae

@TonyPajamas I don't think people realize how dangerous they can be.

@SweetMae a lot of time it’s due to personal use. People pull on the cords and that causes the wires to break inside, which can make the cord heat up and start smoking. Or they put a hot carafe in cold water to wash it, and that causes temperature shock and it shatters.
