I come from "redneck" country. Although not every person that lives here is a redneck, you're correct when you say that is what you tend to see. That being said, no matter where you live, there is a certain aspect of dumbassishness in every community, they just haven't been tagged with a label.

@Riverman yes it is meant to be derogatory, however, in these parts people actually embrace the term and are proud of it. Go figure.
