Who else battles asthma here?

[youtube=https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zSSoYmQS6Ng]

I'm really having a hard time with this asthma flare up. I'm exhausted my mood is beyond low. I can't even describe it. My chest feels like its being stabbed most of the time and I can't seem to come to terms with how I ended up in this situation except blame it on my usless GP's and ER medical team who downplayed asthma until it escalated to this.

Dr, House reminds me of my previous specialist. He'd probably have decapitated me French Revolution style by now for listening to the insanity of my GP's telling me to not use inhalers any longer if I'm fine. .....馃憖

I do. However it鈥檚 almost controlled now. What meds have they put you on besides ventolin when needed?
SW-User
@SW-User I can't use ventolin. Gives me heart palpitation and worse chest spasms. I'm using Bricanyl as rescue inhaler and fluticasone as controller 250mg 2 puffs/2 times a day.

Glad to hear it's controlled. I haven't had a flare up this bad for years now :(

@SW-User Sorry to hear. Maybe ask the docs for a combination steroid inhaler like fluticasone/salmeterol. Also at one point when I had frequent flares up Singulair chewable tabs worked pretty well for me.

@SW-User Hmm. He gave me a month at most the Specialist to see how I get on with the new inhaler. If I don't improve I'm to return asap and discuss for "additional" treatment. Plus they told me I might have chostochonditris because of the localized pains in the joints of my ribs where it feels like someone's constantly stabbing me in my chest area. This flare up has been going on since August. They just didn't bother to care before despite all the tests I did. I only got new treatment cause I sought out the specialist privately as I could tolerate it no longer 馃樀 this experience will change me in ways I m not sure i can describe. I m just sad I m finding everything I used to do easily before twice as challenging besides controlling the fears/concerns in my mind.

@SW-User So the fluticasone inhaler has only been recently added. I hope it will work well for you. I know that feeling. You feel weak and helpless. The most important thing is to stay away from the triggers, stick to your meds and don鈥檛 lose faith in yourself. If you believe that things will get better, they will. You are strong no matter what. I wish you all the best girl. X
