I wonder if these rappers that talk about stuff like this are talking from actual experience or not.

@BrokenWhiskeyGlass2 I dont really put any weight on rappers experiencing what they rap about unless they continue that same gag outside of music. Like a gangsta rapper claiming to be gangsta but never has. That's when I dont really mess with their stuff.

If they rap about it and then say its based on a feeling/concept/thought/someone else's experiencing and they're open that its purely a song for art's sake, I dont mind that.

@5thApprentice That's actually a great way of seeing things, although I think most people think that if you're gonna talk the talk, you better walk the walk. Specially in rap.

@BrokenWhiskeyGlass2 Which is also fair because rap/Hip Hop is different to other music genres and cultures. A major part of the music is about struggle and writing what affects you and your life. So to rap about a struggle that isn't yours is something people would frown upon. I think it does harm the artistic possibilities too, for example if you haven't gone to war you can't write a rap song about it? I get what you mean though and I even think for certain things rapper's should be walking it.

@bijouxbroussard I think this guy is actually kinda good but I highly doubt the stuff he raps about comes from personal experience, which is kinda whack IMO. [youtube=https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qI30C9dt_Wc] IDEK if it could be considered rap, it's more like rock but some people say he is a rapper. Specially because of the topics his music is about.
