Today at work we were complaining about it being busy cuz Sundays are normally slow and nice

Right as I jokingly said "they should be in church!" The local pastor walked in... And agreed with me... And I asked him "why aren't YOU in church???"

Apparently he keeps his sermons under 15 minutes because he figures if it runs any longer than that everyone will stop listening. Good strategy. He does sermons at 3 churches too so it's prolly easier for him that way.
My mother, a Baptist preacher's widow, told a new young pastor at her church: "That's the kind of sermon I like. Short and to the point. Wham, bam, thank you, ma'am!"

Crazy how short attention spans have become.

@AmbivalentFriability social media and instant gratification has caused it. :/
@Peaceful I agree.
It's so easy to get lost playing on your phone or computer after you come home from work, instead of actually DOING things.

@AmbivalentFriability I know. That's why I get out in nature every day. It helps break that spell.
