its a ceiling fan. in the winter i reverse direction. i also use a white noise machine for sound.

I have wanted to, as I like air movement, but the only fan I've had in my room was shake like crazy!, I didn't trust it stay on the ceiling if run all the time overnight. I've even had the light cover fall off a number of times.

@monimathu That's good advice (to try to fix it), but when I had an overhead fan in my room, I was still too young to legally drive ;) I suggested to get it fixed many times (and my pops is quite handy), but at the end of the day, it wasn't my call.
And while we were there (decade), it never did fall.

Spring through fall, not winter. In summer we use air conditioning, but unless it's unusually hot and muggy at night we turn off the AC and just let the fan circulate the cooler air...works like a charm. In spring and fall when it's too cool at night for the AC, the fan does the trick quite well.

If the winter is cold then then no the fan stays off. Where I live the winters are usually mild. Last winter it snowed though

Yes, I sleep much better when I have the fan on. Even in hotels, I turn the fan on the a.c. unit on.
