What is the thing you think you're absolutely sure of?

For me it has always been death somehow. Too finite. Absolute.

@Dolimyte Yikes
Dolimyte · 41-45, M
@SW-User why yikes?
SW-User
@Dolimyte Because I thought you said your'e absolutely sure of nothing...
Dolimyte · 41-45, M
@SW-User I think its more accurate to say there is nothing that I am absolutely sure of, but I think we are saying the same thing.
SW-User
@Dolimyte Yeah, I'm pretty sure we're trying to say the same thing too :P
Dolimyte · 41-45, M
@SW-User so why do you think thats a yikes?
SW-User
@Dolimyte Because nothing is like...nothing...emptiness. Or that's what I initially thought first.
Dolimyte · 41-45, M
@SW-User I see. Well I am not a existential nihilist. I'm just a skeptic, and don't belive anyone can know anything with 100% certainty.
SW-User
@Dolimyte That's true. The idea we can never be 100 per cent sure about anything is really daunting though.
Dolimyte · 41-45, M
@SW-User I would agree with that statment. I think it important to acknowlage though.
SW-User
@Dolimyte The thing is, even when we think we're sure, we theorize new things that for all I know may be non existent in the long run :P

@SW-User don't get me wrong, its important to live your life as if you are certian of perticular things. I just think its a bad idea to comit to the point that your mind could not be changed in the face of new evidence. No need to assume something is false and come up with alternate ideas for no real reason.
SW-User
@Dolimyte Yes and no. Critical and analytical minds plus over thinkers in general will always come up with new stuff. Then think it's false and the cycle will go on and on. It's part of life I guess, doing the same thing is hell mundane. You need new "ideas" to keep going too.
Dolimyte · 41-45, M
@SW-User thats a good point. As long as you don't comit to the new idea with out supporting evidence, I'm all for that. Its probably necessary for inovation.
