What do you think about ghosting/silent treatment?

A mental abuse? Is it a sign of immaturity?

That depends on a persons intent. Some use it to be abusive and to control others, while some may remain quiet, in order to protect themselves from abusers or bullies.
It's mental and emotional abuse from being either too cold or immature to deal with a problem. It's a truly awful thing to do to somebody.

I think it's poor behaviour especially when a person does it with someone they talk to closely.

many people are non-confrontational, and technology makes it very tempting

@SW-User It doesn't make right, no? In psychology, silent treatment is categorized as mental abuse and it's quite harmful for the recipient.

@Kinopio i agree, but it sure does happen a lot, and it may become somewhat normalized due to frequency

As the child of a very non-confrontational and soft spoken father, I think of the silent treatment as a normal part of life. My father gives silence my brother when he cannot reason with the stubborn and spoiled son of his dead wife. What is worse to use your height and strength to intimidate your children or pretend they don't exist?

A sign of disinterest imo

@YoMomma Why can they just talk about it instead? It's mature and won't be as harmful as silent treatment
YoMomma ·
@Kinopio they dont want to
