Held my grandfathers hand and looked him in the eyes when he died of lung cancer.

@Sarabee Yes, just before he died the nurse said he was due a shot for his pain. I knew he hated the meds because of what it did to his mind and I knew he was near death so I wanted him to know what was happening to him and told the nurse not to give him the shot.
There had been lines of tension on his face but for the last couple of minutes it was like a peace came over him and the lines almost disappeared. He had blue eyes and I had been staring in them and then it seemed like he was focusing on something beyond me and then he died.
