Why can't I feel anything?

Last week a neighbour died of old age. He has been a family friend for almost 25 years (so pretty much my whole life) but I feel nothing. It was the same when my grandparents died and is always the same when people tell me they or loved ones suffer from cancer. Same with people telling me they recently lost someone dear. It's not that I don't care. I do in fact care a lot but I just don't feel anything. No sadness, no grief, nothing...😞

Some medications can blunt emotions and empathy. I was drugged at my mom's funeral, didn't cry & felt numb. I've read that common painkillers and allergy medications can blunt empathy not to mention pharmaceuticals that effect moods, etc.
