Why can't I feel anything?

Last week a neighbour died of old age. He has been a family friend for almost 25 years (so pretty much my whole life) but I feel nothing. It was the same when my grandparents died and is always the same when people tell me they or loved ones suffer from cancer. Same with people telling me they recently lost someone dear. It's not that I don't care. I do in fact care a lot but I just don't feel anything. No sadness, no grief, nothing...馃槥

I can sorta relate except I get super emotional for fictional deaths. Real people just don't bring out those same emotions.

@Zelllambert Fictional deaths don't "do it" for me either. I can't take seeing animals die though. Makes me super emotional.

Animals are good at making people sad. I think I'd rather have time off to recover from a pets death rather than a person's funeral.
