canusernamebemyusername Yes. And that's as it should be. When I was a child, we lived in Montreal, where winters were really cold. There were pigeons perched on the telephone wires, and I guess they were freezing to death. One year, when I was about 6, one of them fell at our feet as we passed under the wire. It was still moving, so my mom picked it up, and put it inside her coat next to her skin to warm it up. She brought it home to our place, and started feeding it. I really can't remember what all she fed it, but they are pretty omnivorous. So I'm sure she found food handy around our kitchen. Then she began taking it outside and setting it down on the back porch. It just walked back into the house. She kept that bird and fed it until spring, when it finally decided that the weather was good enough to go outside again. One day, when she took it outside, it simply flew away. If we can save a life, does it matter if nobody else values that life?
