NO. They are likely to have addiction issues, and the money you give them, will probably go toward a high. I offer them food and direct them to the closest shelter.

Only rarely does one of them take me up on the food offer.

When I feel like it. I work in places where beggars could empty my pockets in moments. But I also refuse to have little boxes in my mind that shut down my humanity and their humanity so I don't have to feel bad.

No because most of those homeless people are profession hobos, they make more money mooching of the people rather than getting a job

I learned my lesson about that 44 years ago, when I saw the man take the money to the nearest pub, and come out with a bottle.

I do sometimes take spare vegies and fruit to the free food outlets for the homeless.

Not in a long time.
There are a few out there that I will help, but I would rather give money to my local homeless shelter every month. They can do far more with it.
