Yeah of course. That kind of 'training' for lack of a better word is going to cause not only issues with fear, but with your sense of identity.
You may not always feel as real as everyone else, but you could walk by someone on the street who is going through what you are but 1000x more intense and they'll be just as real as everyone else.
