Why do so many people have PTSD

Can you have PTSD due to not having PTSD

[c=#4C0073]Traumatic experiences like abuse, torture, and military service.[/c]
@Butterflykisses24 what!!! Are you trying to give me double PTSD or something
Butterflykisses24 · 51-55, F
@FlatEarthChocolateCookie I do have ptsd from a traumatic experience and find your comments to be hurtful and thoughtless.
Were you a soldier
th3r0n · 41-45, M
The world is fucked up and a lot of people went through terrible shit because of it
@th3r0n isn’t it better now than ever though? Or is it getting worse
th3r0n · 41-45, M
@FlatEarthChocolateCookie much worse by horrifying levels, we were alive in the 90s, it was nice until 2001
Evilnine86 · 36-40, M
I'm not sure you understand what PTSD means lol
@Evilnine86 👀 Oh so I’m not allowed it huh!!!!
Evilnine86 · 36-40, M
@FlatEarthChocolateCookie not unless the inability to have it gives you a severe stress disorder lol

I think we all have our triggers and defenses.

Those probably aren’t “Traumas” though.

Child abuse. Sexual abuse. War. Loss of friend or family member. Car accident. Those are traumas.

I wonder if it’s like a pyramid scheme. One dad suffers child abuse. Never seeks help and perpetuates it to his kids. And so on and so on.

Most people don't, actually. Much of it is self-diagnosis and much is over-diagnosis. PTSD is actually fairly uncommon condition.
Graylight · 51-55, F
@Graylight In fact, the estimated lifetime prevalence is under 8‰.
I think you’ve got PTSD
Graylight · 51-55, F
@FlatEarthChocolateCookie Brilliant response.

Post traumatic stress disorder is a serious problem that many unfortunately suffer from and effects different people to varying degrees.
