.....is the standard etiquette here to actually make a point of mentioning the reason you edited your statement?

For me its virtually always due to some damn typo.

No. People will know if youre a trouble maker. A trouble maker would lie about it anyway. If Im having a conversation that is slightly heated I dont edit. I dont want to look like Im changing my words.

Jus uncool sw added where ppl can see u edited it ur comment lol..comes in handy for few things like a fight and someone back tracking and remove what they said u can see they edited ,other than that's it's lame lol

I’ve never seen anyone explain. When I edit I am usually adding something, but not anything that would make people’s comments nonsensical.

@LucyFuhr well a young lady just pulled an amusing jape which made everyone who answered her question seem like Buffoon's. It was quite amusing. So I just thought I'd ask.
