What would happen if the Earth and all terrestrial objects suddenly stopped spinning, but the atmosphere retained its velocity?

@kyky16 85 percent of the world would die instantly. Then everything would be flung everywhere and more people would die.

Upside: your good if you're in a deep basement/subway or near either of the poles. 😅
