A taxi driver just broke my mind

He had a coin that appeared to be heads on both sides... unless he wanted it to be tails. He held it between his thumb and a finger, heads up, flipped it around it to the other side and it would still be heads. I even saw him close his hand around the coin with the head side facing up, open it back up again and it was tails. How the hell is that possible?!?
