Fact, or your opinion? Or is it fact because it's your opinion?

@math7 None of those are facts. You have built an opinion on more feelings and opinions.

@Pherick Facts don't become opinions just because someone doesn't like them. Factually, there is ample evidence for promiscuity correlating with an increase in sexually transmitted diseases.

Nobody thinking clearly could deny this.

That evidence isn't even the issue since the very definition of sexually transmitted is evidenced by its own description and this behavior is how these diseases flourish in a society.

Monogamy is antithetical to promiscuity. If you know the classical definitions of the words, themselves you would also know the next two things listed are fact.

And knowing these facts and not caring that they are fact is telling about someone's general sense of self care.

So the fact is that they are in fact, facts. As far as a thinking and reasoning person is concerned.

Calling facts opinions is a sign of wilful ignorance. Wilful ignorance might not be caused by low self esteem but it is definitely not something that others esteem.

Even if it was worth pity. However in my opinion wilful ignorance isn't worthy of pity. It's worthy of contempt.

@SteelHands Thats not what she said though.

She said "promiscuity causes disease". Thats not factual. Any sex can cause disease transmittal. The type of sex it is doesn't matter. Thats a false cause.

I am sorry you are not clearly thinking.

The rest of her statements are again, not facts. The problem is that you are linking promiscuity as the last chain in the link. What should be talked about are all the reasons promiscuity happens.

As I mentioned before, its like claiming that rain happens because of gravity. Well, gravity is the last link in that chain that brings rain to us, but just saying that leaves out ALL of the rest of the water cycle.

You might want to read up on a black or white logical fallacy. Thats what we have going on in this case.
Where two alternative states are presented as the only
possibilities, when in fact more possibilities exist.

Also known as the false dilemma, this insidious tactic has the appearance of
forming a logical argument, but under closer scrutiny, it becomes evident that
there are more possibilities than the either/or choice that is presented
@Pherick picking apart words because she used brevity doesn't alter the veracity enough to parse the fact.

Increased incidence of and higher risk of the transmittal of STDs is easily understood by a thinking person.

Some thoughtful reading might help. I don't expect it from people willing to find infinite ways to argue facts, but mostly only thinking people.

That's the nice thing about actually thinking. I don't need to work hard at any of my reasoning and I don't need to care about your appraisals.

@SteelHands You are welcome to your opinions, you just need to realize that's all they are opinions.

Facts are not opinions and opinions are not facts. Facts need to have data behind, they need to stand up to debate and logic.

None of the things talked about above do that, for the reasons I mentioned.

Take care.
