@math7 I think its pretty much explained in the sentence there. I actually could probably make a few more of those with just as much poignancy.

Greed is a detriment to society, and it ravages the soul.

Judging others is a detriment to society, and it ravages the soul.

See where I might be going with this?

@math7 As you have not shown my promiscuity is *more* detrimental than mine.

I would say though, that while promiscuity could, in theory, be detrimental to one person, arrogance, greed, judging others are cloud emotions. They affect the person performing them in a negative way as well as all those that come into contact with those people.

@math7 The problem with your list is that except for the first item, there is no direct link between promiscuity and those items. Many many many things cause cheating, divorce, lack of respect for others and lack of respect for self.

Could promiscuity have been a part of the reason for any of those items, yes, could arrogance, greed or judging others been part of the reason for those items? Yes.

@math7 I am sorry to say, but I think you are the one who is confused with how correlation and causation work.
Arrogance itself does not result in any of the above. Rather, promiscuous behaviour is the primary cause.
Your statement here is purely opinion that you are trying to pass off as fact. Cheating is listed as the reason for a divorce because of its one of legally allowed reasons for a divorce. Arrogance is not, however that doesn't mean arrogance in the relationship is not what lead to the cheating.

The problem here is that you are trying to state as fact links and causations that cannot be. Promiscuity plays a role in divorce, but what causes promiscuity? A HUGE variety of forces, feelings and actions going into a relationship and why it ends.

To try and simply boil it down to "its promiscuity" ... Well thats like trying to say "why does it rain" and then saying "Gravity". Technically one part of the answer, but missing SO much else.

@math7 Ah, I do love when someone is losing an argument and so decides to start direct insults.

You have a great day.
