My apologetics' stance on homosexuality

If my position on homosexuality qualifies me to be a homophobe, I will accept that title. Despite the fact that I know and you know that the term is a misnomer since the word "phobia" implies an irrational fear of something, nevertheless, rather than engage in an inutile debate over the etymology of the word, I will simply accept the title.

However, I will reject the notion that not approving of the LBGT lifestyle qualifies me as a bigot or means that I hate homosexuals. I do not hate homosexuals no more than I hate cigarette smokers, or potheads, however, I do believe the lifestyle is unhealthy and immoral.

Why should I concern myself with what homosexuals do, you ask? Simple, 1) because they do it in public and these days, they are trying to force a false doctrine on Americans which says that people are born gay, which isn't true. 2) because I think it should be a crime for a mother or father to confuse a little boy by raising him up to believe be is a girl... by encouraging a little boy who is confused, to act like a girl. This is very sick behavior on the parents part.

Yes, it’s bigotry. What consenting adults do is none of your business. Some kids are confused about gender. I’ve seen your other posts and you believe people should be forced to adhere to rigid traditional gender roles—also none of your business, unless we’re talking about how you plan to raise your children. So yeah, you’re a bigot and if you’re talking about arresting parents who accept their children as is, that sounds pretty hateful, too. 😞

@bijouxbroussard No, we're not bigots. Bigots hate people that different from them. We do not hate people different from us but we do hate sin. Homosexuality is part of that sin and causes those who are in its evil grip to act out of character.
@GodSpeed63 Sin based upon religious beliefs that not everyone shares. Your religious beliefs are only relevant to how you behave.

I'm not religious in the term you're used to using it. I'm a blood bought saint of the living God, a Born Again Believer in Christ. Homosexuality is not part of the human character God created in us. It's part of the fall of mankind, like stealing killing, and destroying. No offense, but that's the truth.

@GodSpeed63 That's YOUR truth. Thats all. Blood bought saint or not.
GodSpeed63 · 61-69, M
@Pherick If it were my truth, you'd be right in saying that I'm blowing my own horn and not knowing what I'm talking about. If I do blow my own horn, please, point that out to me. The Word of God is clear on homosexuality, that it is sin and makes people act out of character. This is why God hates homosexuality; He doesn't hate the people who practice it but He does hate the very act itself and wants to free them from it.
Pherick · 41-45, M
@GodSpeed63 You are blowing your own horn.

Also, you are claiming that God, a divine being of love, hates something? That's pretty interesting ...
GodSpeed63 · 61-69, M
How am I blowing my own horn? Do you consider yourself a loving person?
Pherick · 41-45, M
@GodSpeed63 You are blowing your own horn, because you presume to speak for a divine being and that he hates something.

I consider myself a mildly loving person.
GodSpeed63 · 61-69, M
Do you hate all sorts crime?
Pherick · 41-45, M
@GodSpeed63 I don't think I hate crime per say. Most crime is relative in that if done under certain circumstances could be OK. So do I hate crime? No.

Do I hate people whose actions harm others ... yea I could lean toward hate there. Then, of course, I do hate certain groups, child molesters and such.
GodSpeed63 · 61-69, M
Then why do you expect a loving God not to hate those abominable acts people do to harm one another?
Pherick · 41-45, M
@GodSpeed63 Because I am not a divine being of love. God is.

Yes, That is true, but His love includes being a just God along with a merciful and a graceful God. You seem to something about the Word of God.
Pherick · 41-45, M
@GodSpeed63 Well I would assume a merciful and graceful god of love wouldn't hate anyone for loving people their hearts tell them to.
GodSpeed63 · 61-69, M
You're right, He does love all people but all people don't love Him.
