My childhood home was built on top of a battlefield and it stood exactly opposite the fort's main entrance.

@SW-User Can't say, but it was a huge villa, made of stone and the main door was ten feet tall and very heavy wood with brass knobs and the lock was HUGE... About 10-15 pounds heavy.. no kidding

@Randy4954 Yeah, I was born and brought up in that house... We moved out when I was 15. It's demolished and a five storey building stands in that place.. Owned by my family... But I miss my old home. 😕

@Vivaci I can understand why it was designed that way. But living near a battlefield? You must've got to witness quite a scene every morning for school lol

It's only after that solid home was demolished, and the cellar dug out that we found buried swords, human skeletons, and horse carcasses and one man was around 7 ft tall.

@Randy4954 I hate that my dad agreed to demolish the house just so that his sisters could get their share. They even took our gramophone, my grandpas tools, grandfather clock and my dad didn't object.
We had a stable and cowshed and all... Mmm... Good memories.

@Randy4954 ironically, I have moved so many times after marriage, and always had to leave stuff behind. I don't feel attached to my belongings anymore. Lol
