I have mixed feelings about it actually.
I used to not be behind it at all, even if your a murderer I thought it was better for you to rot and that some people might even see the error of their ways before they died which I thought was worth it but I think we are a bit too sensitive today, some people even pretend death doesn't exist which is ridiculous but also it was highly effective at keeping crime rates down, people are always going to break the rules but most people will try to avoid death.
Definitely the death penalty should only be used in extreme cases because they could use it to control us inside and out and the innocent should never be executed.
I don't know, humans never get anything right, it's always from one extreme to the other and we will always argue with each other about everything, especially punishment
