Dinner parties and food has gotten worse because of Food Network and TV chefs.

They always take a good thing and encourage people in new ways to screw it up.

No it is not better with quinoa or because you infuses Asian and Mexican. Or replaced haddock with salmon. It's much, much ,much worse.

I have friends who are chefs and they'd say TV chefs have pretty much ruined the whole field. That and the fact that we've become culture-less rubes.

I'm down with ethnic. Came up with ethnic. Get ethnic any moment I can. Real ethnic. Not a Thai fusion hot dog.

I mean, when did it become acceptable to bring a tub of hummus and pita chips to a dinner party. I've been at parties where there's been like 8 tubs of hummus and 12 bags of pita chips. And I'm texting and ordering take-out for when I get the fuck out of there.

@CopperCicada And what ever happened to just good old home cooked food? Pot roast without Lennon grass. Chicken soup without Indian curry. Macaroni and cheese without garlic and tomatoes. Why does everything have to have some exotic
ingradient that doesn't belong in it?

@MethDozer I'll admit. I'm a foodie. Peeps like Bourdain and Eddie Huang inspire me. They'd be the first to admit that home cooked food is some of the best. Fuck. I have Velveeta slices because it makes the best grilled cheese.

Home cooking means different things to different people. I came up with Italian, Lebanese, Polish, German and Jewish ethnic food. That was "home cooking".

That didn't mean we didn't have hot dogs, burgers, potato salad and shit.

I've been in the South 30y. Love real Southern cooking if you can get it.

I sort of get ya, but I see it differently.
