Does anyone really care about the shape of the lintball you pulled from your belly button?

I've been on SW for just a little while now, and I cannot find anything SERIOUS to discuss with anyone. Everything I read about is ridiculously trivial and trite.

What buttons do I have to press to get to the SERIOUS stuff that I want to talk about.

OK, I confess, I used to be part of EP, and loved going there to talk to people who seriously needed to talk to people, sometimes anonymous people. But I cannot find any such meat at the SW table.

Is it just because SW is 'so new'? What do you think. Will this site turn into anything more significant than the shallow crap that I always see on the 'front page' after I log in?

Do you think it will get fortified as time goes by?

There are people who post serious topics. Its just that their posts and questions are lost in the sea. If you look at certian groups you may be able to find more of what your looking for. but then again maybe people just post"something" as opposed to nothing so they can get responses and not feel alone. cause it seems that most of the time when people do post something serious they get a lot of hate or no respone at all. but maybe that will change with time.

Pick a topic and look for people who are passionate about issues.

Or better yet, provoke some serious discussion on a topic you're interested in.

The site has organizational flaws, and I'm annoyed with them myself at times,but they're not insurmountable.
