Are you frugal?
We were dirt poor for years, and now that I have money I still don't want to spend it. Everything has to be free or half price.

indeed, i am. it's almost a fetish for me. when i was a kid, i heard stories of how people conserved resources during the Great Depression, and it stuck with me. i scrape out the insides of egg shells, and all sorts of things to avoid waste. and i love saving way, way more than spending. always buying in bulk, and looking for a 'deal', trying to spend less per unit is my idea of a good time.
