My gf wants to go to the gym with me and I really don't like going to the gym with people.

It's my "zen time" so, I like to work out alone. I also like to hike alone. I like to spend at least 3 - 4 hours at the gym or hiking and whenever go with other people they never want to stay that long, and end up leaving early because they want to leave. So, lol that's pretty much why I don't want her to go with me because I like to work out on my own time. I told her that I wanted to go alone and she got really sad and keeps trying to go with me still and I really don't want to go with her. LOL I feel like a butthole but, whatever.

First off, I quite going to the gym years ago. It’s such a judgement place. Your time is important so let her know that. I would invite her on a hike. I love to hike and often go in my own. It really is zen time. However when I go with an intimate friend it usually leads to, well, intimacy. 😉 Sometimes even along the way!

Sounds like her problem, not yours. People in successful relationships respect each other’s space.
Well, how about she works out with you, and when she's done, then she goes get a drink while she waits for you to finish.

You spend some time with her - win; and she's amazed by your stamina and exercise regime - win.

Besides, aftef a couple times she may not want to go anymore...

Its like riding a bicycle. You go ride a slow ride for relationship/family time. Then they are tired and you go rip off a 100 mile ride at your regular pace.

Try it once. Also, explain this all to her.

Will taking your girlfriend hiking a few times kill you?

Doing things with your girlfriend is nice and she will love you for it... even if it isn't every day.

Respecting one another's space and time for themselves is important. You should let her know how you feel about that.

@SW-User I did let her know how I feel about it. I do tons of things with her, the gym and exercise is just one thing I need to do alone
I totally understand the alone time thing... but try it anyway. You never know, you might enjoy her company. If it doesn’t work, then explain it to her and she’d understand
