That sounds like female workplace mentality. I'm competitive at work too, but I always have my coworker's backs and do what I can to lift all boats. This I think is a common thread among men.
JohnYahYah · 61-69, M
That must work really well at the office 😕

You sound competitive but not necessarily elitist.

I don't believe what you're describing is an elitist. What you're describing is insecurity.

So you play fantasy Game of Thrones, eh? 😬

equality is a fairy-tale.
Sweet517 · 51-55, F
@DownTheStreet All people are created equal... some are just blessed to be more equal than others. We live in a society that rewards personal effort. Those who make it to the top are successful often due to their own hard work. It is getting tiresome to hear the whining of those who expect largesse to be handed to them while they are doing nothing to better their lots in life.

I'm sure I could compete at your level, IF I allowed myself to lower my standards

Of some sort, probs.
TuxedoMask · M
You literally just described narcissist.
Sweet517 · 51-55, F
@TuxedoMask Hardly. Narcissists typically crave attention and emotional supplies in order to not feel like a pile of shit. Their lack of empathy is based upon their one sided view of relationships. Being highly competitive and not wanting to be equaled or trumped is something different
TuxedoMask · M
I will keep everything I can away from others to ensure I have superiority in as many ways possible.
Sweet517 · 51-55, F
@TuxedoMask not textbook narcissism. Competitive yes
