I think it's a false sense of security. The truth about Nazi Germany is if citizens just simply said no it wouldn't have happened with or without guns. They fell for quite a bit of propaganda about the Jewish people at the time.

What makes you think the majority wouldn't turn against you and that you would have a "well regulated militia" on your side? What makes you think the majority would ban together in some Chuck Norris fight against the Govt?

The so-called 2nd Amendment advocaters violate the 1st Amendment. There's no point in supporting the gun lover Amendment if you don't support the 1st Amendment: the right to speak your mind openly.

@SuicideBiProxy2 The right to “bear arms” was most commonly used in the 18th century to describe participation in the military.

The amendment also applies to weapons (muskets) used at the time during the 18th century. It has nothing to do with America's modern day guns therefore it’s outdated.
