I recently read She Rides Shotgun, by Jordan Harper (2017). An eleven-year-old girl on the run from a prison gang with her bad dad. Violent but very good. Now I'm rereading The Death of Sweet Mister, by Daniel Woodrell (2001) for about the fifth time. Hillbilly noir.
