What book would you most like to see adapted into a film (not one that's been done already)

The Catcher in the Rye or A Confederacy of Dunces. Both great vehicles for the right actor.
@Ynotisay I think Salinger's agents at Harold Ober's still have the rights and maintain Salinger's stipulation not to have 'Catcher in the rye' made into a fim.

@EugenieLaBorgia Interesting. I hadn't looked in to it much. Makes sense given how well that book would lend itself to a film. Thanks for that.

@prawntobewild I think weinstien and Spielberg had already tried before and even Salinger anticipated those rights would expire... and , possibly, some moron might serialize it!!
