Is a law prohibiting blasphemy, blasphemous? [Spirituality & Religion]

Such a law implies a presumption that an "almighty god" isn't able to defend itself, that it needs man to defend it. In the UK, only the christian god is considered to need that protection, other gods are presumed to be powerful enough to look after themselves.

All blasphemy laws should be removed. The main thing is they are open to interpretation and they also alienate minorities while being in favor of a majority. It's totalitarian because it's making something concrete out of an abstract idea.

First of all, people wrote those books 2000 years ago where screwing animals was legal, public executions legal, stoning women, children and men legal, slavery was thought to be a public service (even though it isn't.)

In countries that have no religious freedom and guided by mostly blasphemy laws, it's like that.

We see what happens with them, it's not something that should be apart of civilized society.
