It's a sad world where being manly is suddenly cause for suspicion. We celebrate womanhood and encourage girls to be whatever they can be but a guy can't even be a guy without something being wrong with him? Quickly men of the world show a feminine side so you don't seem gay or insecure! (as suggested by replies to this post)

*just top make it clear my point is that in an age of encouraging everyone to embrace sexuality whatever it is it seems shameful to discriminate against 1 sexuality as if it's a symptom or a choice*

Well... Look.

My great grand father came to America at 14 years old. He knew only one word in English. It was sixteen. The working age at the time.

His task was to make enough money to send some back to Sicily. To bring his siblings over as well.

He fought on the streets for money and slept on park benches to avoid the mafia. Which was a very influential presence at that time in Manhattan. Especially to young Sicilians.

He was eventually taken in by a Jewish family. He ended up an engineer. An died owning a maintenance company that worked for many buildings in Manhattan. A wealthy man.

He got 3 of his siblings to New York. One died in Sicily before she could be brought over. His parents were very proud Sicilians. They decided to die in Sicily. Refused to be American.

This is masculine. This is a hero.

Fast forward to 2018. I hear about another “hero”

An 18 year idk girl who challenged the system. Really took it to the man. This brave soul, this HERO wore a backless top with no bra to school...

Beware Americans. One day you will be over taken by a hardier race.

Does anyone even know what a guy is supposed to be these days ?
I mean i grew up with one set of ideas and by the time my education was done it had changed and by the time i was ten years into my work life it had changed again !

So i've gone from 'Trilby-headed; suited; middle-aged looking male figures. Through all that 'Half-naked; rugged looking; rarely shaved; 'Dreamboys'male-strip-show look'type of a guy; to 'Family-Man' but with marriage on the decline for the last 50 years that means more of us were 'single-dads', some of us being sole-carer for our children !

So with regard to what is masculine......Bit of a moot point really.

I think that's just called being an asshole. lol.

If you can be too masculine then you can be too feminine too? I think some people have a warped sense of what masculinity is.

I think men are being discouraged from behaving like men. Masculinity has been demonised. Only bad men behave like men
