"why do people" come in here and criticize, scrutinize the way people type?
SO PETTY! It has no effect on anyone's life...very annoying. Might as well just say " I don't do it that way so why do other people do it that way??"

It might have something to do with the fact that typing is the primary mode of communication in this place, and it impedes that communication when people elect not to employ proper grammar and/or syntax. I'm sure that some people do choose to be petty about it, but others try to help. If I'm going to read something, I would hope that it wouldn't end up giving me a headache due to poor grammar and syntax.
