Are you scared or embarassed of getting haircuts?

I didn't used to be. Until I moved to California's Inland Empire.

1st haircut/coloring: She dyed my hair dark and purple after I'd asked for my dark blond hair to be a shade lighter. The haircut was supposed to be a blunt cut with bangs; no bangs, slight layering.

2nd haircut/coloring (another salon, of course): The woman yanked my hair glaring at me...for 6 hours! And the coloring was STILL not done! Exhausted, I asked to have it rinsed out and left. No time left to get the haircut I paid for...and the salon wouldn't give me my money back.

3rd attempt, new salon: I asked for a layered cut with bangs and to have my hair lightened a shade or two. Got a blunt cut, teeny tiny one inch long bangs that look awful...and, amazingly, my hair is now several shades DARKER. When I asked about the color situation, was told it looked better this way covering the gray.

I may decide to cut and color my own hair. Could hardly be worse than it is now.

Of course, I've read that 60% of the population of India has never used a toilet. So I guess I can put my hair problem in perspective.

@greenmountaingal Hi Ms. Greenmountaingal I read your comment and felt for you, my hair is and has always been very special for me, I know I am a guy but it has, and no I am not gay I just love hair. I went for over 4 years without getting a haircut after high school for multiple reasons. One I had always wanted to grow my hair longer, and finally had that freedom, second I kept putting off making an appointment because I was busy, wanted it a little bit longer, or wasn't sure if I wanted to go back to my last stylist, who was great buuutt I just wanted someone new and different. Third I had trouble finding somone who was close enough to where I lived, was skilled, wasn't super expensive and preferably was a salon stylist, as I didn't want to go back to barbershops, nothing wrong with them but I prefer salons. Oh and I was looking for a shop that was more private I didn't want to be in one of 12 other styling stations again, I like my privacy during a haircut and wanted to find a salon like that. Well problem is they are rare and they usually are expensive, but finally about 8 months ago I found a little barbershop run by one barberette or female barber, from it's description and people's reviews it sounded great and perfect for me, it was about an 30 miles away so far but not too far, it was nicely priced, it was just one chair and one stylist, but unlike other barbershops like that she, the stylist/barberette, has clients make an appointment and only see's one at a time, except on walk-in wednesdays, and she is like a stylist/barber, because she used to work in a salon and can cut men's hair as well as women's and both with great skill, at a great price, and with great attention and effort to make you feel good and looking great.

I probably wouldn't have said any of this but since you said you are in the California Inland Empire and that is sort of close to me, I live in a part of Southern California that is really close to that, so I figured that it was my duty to at least let you know about my stylist/barberette.

I know you may not want to even take a look at my barberette but if you wish to hear more, check out her out online, or ask me anything feel free to pm me, and if you wish I will pm you any more info on her that you want.

Whatever you choose I wish you best of luck in your future hair endeavors.
