Climate change denial.
@GlassDog well to be honest the climate has always changed. adding co2 can help things change but its not the total cause.
@GlassDog That 'is' pretty dumb since the climate has been changing for over 4 billion years!
@puck61 yep it has. many areas have gone through droughts and ice age through the history of the earth and none of those were called man made.

@badapple @puck61 Was kind of hoping it was implied that I meant the portion of climate change directly attributed to human behaviour in the past few hundred years as opposed to the natural climate change that happens over millions of years and is largely negligable compared to a human lifespan (apart from tipping points).
@badapple I've never met a climate change denier. I've met some man made global warming skeptics, and I know for a fact that people have been cooking the books to make "man made global warming" seem like a thing. The establishment has pretty much taken the bait hook line and sinker. "Man made global warming" alarmism is nothing but a new religion and a political means to an end, but there's not much I can do about that, so I just go about my insignificant life.
@GlassDog Rain forest burning and such is definitely affecting the climate, but the alarmism is nothing but a cash cow for clever charlatans. It's going to get warmer regardless. If the Yellowstone caldera blows, it's going to get colder.

@GlassDog What is it called these days, Climate change, global warming and now global disturbance - just another tax for the poor suffering people

@puck61 You have to follow the money. What benefit do scientists have from making up stories that industrialisation is bad for the planet? On the other hand, what benefit do industrialists find from continuing to make the maximum short-term profit by taking the minimum long-term care? There's absolutely no reason why someone would make up climate change. Scientists' currency is truth and proof. When found to be "liars" or just wrong their careers would be over and reputation ruined, whereas industrialists rely on producing things cheaply and they know that climate change would put a crimp in that. Equally, government is in a difficult position when it comes down to competitiveness between countries and there's little public support for acting unilaterally and making individual economies weaker.

@nedkelly Shouldn't really have to be paid by the poor, but by the people who caused it. If someone ruins their garden, I'm not paying to fix it for them!
@GlassDog Of course it is a perfect tool for globalists to enact their globalist agenda. 'Global warming alarmism' is a perfect religion for the New World Order. There is a plethora of reasons globalists would want an alarmism dynamic.
GlassDog · 46-50, M
@puck61 An entire global revolution sounds rather less plausible than simply people looking to make money. How many times in history has every country in the world succumbed to a new world order compared to someone being less than moral in order to make money?
@GlassDog The families with the power are benefiting and will continue to benefit from global warming alarmism.
@GlassDog actually climate change can happen fast and not gradual.

@badapple Yep, I knew it was going to be mentioned so I made the caveat about tipping points.
@badapple Yeah! Yellowstone (God forbid) would be an excellent example, as was, Krakatoa.
@puck61 its happened and even been recorded that climate change has occurred rapidly without human intervention. civilazations have been effected by it. the moche tribe in south america is one example how nature changed swiftly. that was back in 536 and 594 AD
@badapple The dark ages were the 'dark ages' for more than social reasons, and it snowed in Tampico Mexico at sea level at the dawn of the industrial revolution.
