What are some things to put in a child's Easter basket besides candy?

I was gonna make one for my nieces. I don't want them to have candy. I don't know what to put besides some little books and maybe crayons...ideas?

Hmmm, let's see... Well, you have to tuck in a small stuffed bunny... how about small boxes of raisins or other dried fruits... a shiny apple or a few small oranges such as Cuties... plastic eggs with coins inside... fruit leather rolls... individual mini bags of nuts... individual packs of crackers... individual sealed cups of applesauce or fruit... hair accessories... lip glosses... stickers... cute small notepads... Easter-themed socks... brightly colored felt-tipped markers... packets of flower seeds... (and would a sprinkling of those pastel foil-wrapped Hershey's Kisses really hurt?)... it is probably too late for you to order from Oriental Trading Company for this Easter (although you could still check it out; maybe it's not too late)- they have loads of small, inexpensive, Easter-themed goodies for kids, or at least you could get some ideas... I think it is GREAT that you are making Easter baskets for your kids! My parents continued this cute tradition long into my adulthood and it is one of my few fond memories. Good luck with your baskets, and I hope that you get as much enjoyment out of gathering your items and lovingly assembling the baskets as we did! 馃惏馃尫馃悋馃悾馃馃惏

@Stormkitten thank you. I wish I had saw this before I went lol. I got them little purses, hair bows, some books, flip flops, easter eggs, bubbles, which they love and a few other things. I wish I'd thought of putting snacks. They are for my neices. No kids for me

Well, it sounds to me like you did a great job, and no doubt the girls will feel your love and good energies in those Easter baskets! And besides, Easter is not until April 1, so if you still want to add a few small snackies to their baskets then you still have seven or eight days to pick some up in almost any store! You sound like a fun and thoughtful aunt! Enjoy!
