What are some things to put in a child's Easter basket besides candy?

I was gonna make one for my nieces. I don't want them to have candy. I don't know what to put besides some little books and maybe crayons...ideas?

Anything spring, really. For my son, I used to buy a kite or a glider (styrofoam) or something athletic like a new soccer ball or horseshoes, etc. Anything to play with outside. You could get them sidewalk chalk as that is always popular. Puzzles. Little things.
