Political views aside...Is the POTUS a good person overall in your eyes? would he be a good friend to have on a personal level..

I personally dont think he would be...not the kind of friend you can depend on to "be there " for you

He is no Jimmy Carter.

@SW-User Jimmy Carter is not a good guy either. He is a glory hound of the first order. Only he knows how.
SW-User
I did not know that. I will certainly change my perspective based on your eloquent reply.
SW-User
Don't bother sending me Newsmax or Brightbart articles backing your assertions.
hippyjoe1955 · 61-69, M
@SW-User There is good reason Carter only served one term. He wouldn't take advice and screwed up royally.

This isn't going very well. You should log into one of your other accounts and post a complimentary comment.

@SW-User If you are referring to me I don't have any other accounts. Unlike you I am consistent in my statements. Maybe you need to do a bit of reading. People who served him in the WH said he was a micromanager that wouldn't take advice.
SW-User
I've had bosses who were micromanagers. I'd still have a beer with them and thought they were generally nice to their families.

The original post asked about "good" people. If you hate micromanagers and don't think they can be good people... that's on you.
hippyjoe1955 · 61-69, M
@SW-User My point is as Jesus said "There is none good but God".
SW-User
@hippyjoe1955 ??? So Jesus wasn't good?
hippyjoe1955 · 61-69, M
@SW-User Jesus is God.
SW-User
@hippyjoe1955 You might want to read that whole verse.
hippyjoe1955 · 61-69, M
@SW-User I have read the whole verse many times and have used it often when I preach. I am an ordained pastor that used to teach seminary professors.
SW-User
If it's not Catholic... then I don't care what your credentials are.

I've seen plenty of pastors spew filth on the likes of Twitter. Hard to believe they consider themselves Christian.
hippyjoe1955 · 61-69, M
@SW-User Then you are simply a bigot. Move on son. You don't have a clue what you are talking about.
SW-User
@hippyjoe1955 We see right through you. :-)
hippyjoe1955 · 61-69, M
@SW-User Good then I am transparent. Unlike you who is about as thick as two short planks nailed together. Not very smart on your part.
SW-User
@hippyjoe1955 Can I post bible verses about judging people or are those forbidden in non-Catholic christian readings?
SW-User
@hippyjoe1955 FYI... your bigotness is showing. I'm sure you did a great job teaching others and are part of the reason non-Catholic Christianity is the trash-heap it is today.
hippyjoe1955 · 61-69, M
@SW-User I posted a Catholic teaching and you aren't informed enough to recognize it. Bwahahahahahahahahaha what a maroon.
SW-User
"There is none good but God" is hardly a Catholic doctrine. Read the whole verse again.
hippyjoe1955 · 61-69, M
@SW-User Why don't you read it and try to figure out what Jesus meant. Let us hear your 'catholic' understanding.
SW-User
It means that people can be good but goodness comes through God. Man does not create goodness.

You tried to end an argument with a Bible verse... because it's effectively like a mic drop. I'm just saying the verse didn't fit. It didn't help your point.
hippyjoe1955 · 61-69, M
@SW-User Wrong that is not the catholic teaching. Try again. Here is the entire part for you in case you can't find it.

And as he was setting out on his journey, a man ran up and knelt before him and asked him, “Good Teacher, what must I do to inherit eternal life?” And Jesus said to him, “Why do you call me good? No one is good except God alone. You know the commandments: ‘Do not murder, Do not commit adultery, Do not steal, Do not bear false witness, Do not defraud, Honor your father and mother.’” And he said to him, “Teacher, all these I have kept from my youth.” And Jesus, looking at him, loved him, and said to him, “You lack one thing: go, sell all that you have and give to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven; and come, follow me.” Disheartened by the saying, he went away sorrowful, for he had great possessions.

I might suggest you go talk to your catholic priest. He might be able to help you.

@SW-User In case you need some help with your understanding here is St Paul's explanation of Jesus teaching

None is good, no, not one;
no one understands;
no one seeks for God.
All have turned aside; together they have become worthless;
no one does good,
not even one.

So unless the catholic church calls Jesus and St Paul liars you have missed the Christian teaching completely.

Ugh... Paul?
