growing up in the 1930's and then as a teen in the 1940's how was it for you? were you recommended to read Emily Post's 1912 book, "Etiquette"?

@Elandra77 It wasn't until Prohibition in the 20s that men and women started drinking together (at the speakeasy). That played a huge role I'm sure.
@irishmolly72 I was born in the 1950's and eve then women were not allowed in a lot of clubs and institutions- or course, men were excluded form other as well. Some of the public swimming pools had women's only day and men's only day.
If she graduated in 1948, same year as my Mother, I want to hear her first hand experiences. Not learned information or book smart info. But actual life experience.

@irishmolly72 I am sure we would we would as well. Probably trade some beauty secrets, steal each others clothes (borrow lol) gossip a bit and have a pizza and wine.
