[c=#7700B2]being Transgender is not considered a mental illness anymore[/c]

If it (transexualism) isn't an illness why does it require over $100,000 in medical treatment?
@PlumBerries If you're a boy, and you think you're a girl, then something isi wrong with your head. The opposite applies.

[c=#7700B2]no but my best friend is[/c]
@PlumBerries I had a good friend in Portland who was undergoing 'the change',. I don't think it's a very happy place to imagine you are not the sex you were born with. If you have a penis, you are a male. If I think I am Napoleon Bonaparte, then I am delusional. Yet it's considered normal if a male thinks he is female or contrariwise?

@puck61 my reservation is that they're always trying to prove neurological differences between the sexes. As a feminist I believe a person is whoever a person is irrespective of genitalia.
But what is the issue with the military? Isn't it that they'd be expected to pay for 'treatment'?

@SW-User That's part of it, plus the general mental state of someone with gender dysphoria is not compatible with military service.

[c=#7700B2]well that just isn't true. If that was the case, no transgender person would be in the military and well there is[/c]
